Who We Are
We are an independent organization in Rochester, New York helping the community every day. Special Parents Special Kids (SPSK) was started in 1999 by Ana Casserly, an Advocate and Activist who works for children with disabilities daily. Our goal at SPSK is that every parent who has children with a disability can understand the rights that their children have.
As Special Parents Special Kids we want every parent in the community to know that the have a right to have an appropriate education. We care about your kids education and we care about our school climate in the City of Rochester.
Our Volunteers
Special Parents Special Kids depend on the help of hundreds of volunteers each year to accomplish the important work we do. Volunteering is a great way to share your time in the community, meet like-minded people, and make the difference in our community. We could use your help with organizing events, going door-to-door, phone banking, meeting with politicians and more. perhaps you have particular skill you would like to share with our community.
